bavius technologie gmbh has been awarded the Innovation Award of the Ravensburg district 2024 for its newly developed horizontal machining center HBZ AeroCell 160. The award honors groundbreaking developments by medium-sized companies that stand out through technological excellence and market relevance.

Technological excellence made in Baienfurt

With the AeroCell 160, bavius has developed a machining center specifically designed for high-performance machining of large-volume aluminum structural components, especially for aerospace applications. The machine combines maximum dynamics with intelligent automation features:

• Spindle power up to 140 kW and 30,000 rpm
• Material removal rate over 20 l/min
• Horizontal 5-axis machining with integrated pallet changer
• High travel ranges (X up to 4,400 mm, Y 1,700 mm, Z 850 mm)

The integrated pallet changer with swing and rotation function enables parallel setup during main time, significantly increasing productivity. The horizontal design ensures optimal chip and coolant evacuation – a key advantage in high-speed machining.
